History
Founded in 1955, MITAS Energy and Metal Construction Inc. has grown to be a leading company in design, production and galvanized coating of steel towers, poles and their accessories for energy, telecommunication and lighting industry.
Through years of focused and dedicated improvement in technology, human resources, production capacity and product range, MITAS has established itself as the leader in the sector, exporting its products and services to more than 125 countries in 5 continents.
Having 1.500 employees, with more than 80 engineers, MITAS has an annual steel processing capacity of 90,000 tons and a galvanizing capacity of 150,000 tons in its headquarters premises that spreads over an area of 82,000 m² of which 42,000 m² is closed facilities.
MITAS has made 2 value-building investments recently. The first was the establishment of its 2nd hot dip galvanized steel construction plant in Izmir with a French partner Fayat Group on an area of 35,000m² of which 15,000 m² closed facilities. This factory has an annual steel processing capacity of 35,000 tons and a galvanizing capacity of 70,000 tons.
Secondly, MITAS commissioned a new galvanizing plant near Istanbul, which has an annual galvanizing capacity of 70,000 tons, on area of 15,000m² of which 6,000 m² is closed facilities.
These investments made MITAS the biggest galvanized steel construction producer in Turkiye and its region.
MITAS also produces fasteners in its bolt factory, having a product range of hot dipped galvanized bolts up to M24 (1 inch) size and anchor bolts up to M64 with nuts and washers with a capacity of 10,000 tons per year.
Being one of the major energy transmission line contractor, MITAS has executed projects cumulating up to 40% of Turkey’s Power Grid which consists of 380 kV and 154 kV transmission lines as main voltage levels and backbone.

MITAS is certififed with ISO 9001:2000 Quality System Management and ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality Management System for automotive sector by SGS, and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental System Management and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System by TÜV Austria. MITAS also holds DIN 18800-7 Class-D Welding Certificate by GSI SLV Berlin.
